Pipeline Markers

What do pipeline markers look like?

Pipeline markers, like those below, are placed at intervals along the pipeline right-of-way, at road and railroad crossings and at all above-ground facilities.  Pipeline markers identify the general location of the pipeline and list the specific products transported, the operator’s name and the emergency contact number.

It is a federal crime to damage, remove or destroy a pipeline marker.
