Internal Assessment Tools: "Smart Pigs"

Explorer actively monitors the condition of its pipelines using internal inspection tools, including Smart Pigs. Smart Pigs are inserted into the pipeline and collect data about the condition of the pipeline wall as they are pushed along by the product inside. Smart Pigs can detect signs of corrosion, deformation, and cracking. Excavation of these findings is conducted periodically to ensure the integrity of the pipeline system.
